I woke up in the morning with a welcome snowfall of about 6 inches in height. I decided to take the bull by the horns by removing them from the walkway to my doorstep manually.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!I ended up clearing all the snow in front of my residence. It took me almost four hours to clear off the snow layers.
In my few years in the country, I have noticed that the best way to handle snow when it comes is to get it cleared off as soon as possible before it solidifies.
Not many people would like to come out in the morning to do this. Some may, but many will not. With some, office work wouldn’t let them clear, and this depends on the magnitude of the snow and the location too.
I started from the front door, down the aisle, and to the end of the parking space. I didn’t mind the fact that the snow continued. Luckily for me, we have snow salt available at the back of the car.
After scraping off the snow with a snow scraper, I immediately applied the salt to every concrete arrear in front of my house, so it helped melt the remaining snow for the rest of the day.
What equipment did I use? They are the manual scraper or snow pusher, and it was quite easy for me since the snow is still as soft as powder.
The plastic dustpan, which I normally use for small dusty surfaces, was also employed in the clearing process of clearing the snow.
For some neighbors who had the snow blower machine, it took them just a few minutes to an hour to get the job done.
Somehow, I enjoyed the day and took it as a form of exercise too. Do you know that by exposing yourself to snow outside for some time, your immune system gets boosted? Try it. I felt better and stronger after it and didn’t feel tired as I would normally after prolonged home chores.
So, when it snows next, get up early and participate when you notice that there are about one or two hours left for the snow to fall.
Snow is good when it falls in moderate form. It only becomes dangerous when it solidifies with rain shortly after its fall or if it rains and snows simultaneously.
